Temperatures rise across UAE as summer peaks

emirates7 - Residents across the UAE can expect a noticeable rise in temperatures today, Thursday, June 12, as the country heads toward the peak of summer. According to the National Center of Meteorology (NCM), the day will be generally fair to partly cloudy, with temperatures trending upward across all regions. The forecast suggests mostly stable conditions, with some cloud development expected over the eastern parts later in the day.

Here’s a closer look at what to anticipate in various regions:

Coastal and Island Areas (Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Sharjah):
Temperatures in these areas will be high, ranging between 40°C and 44°C.

Interior Regions (including Al Ain):
This zone will face the highest heat levels, with temperatures forecast between 42°C and 46°C.

Mountainous Areas:
These regions will offer relatively cooler conditions, with temperatures expected to range from 34°C to 39°C.

The temperature increase is being driven by the presence of weak surface pressure systems and the extension of an upper-atmosphere high-pressure ridge, a pattern commonly linked to stable and hot weather across the region.

In addition to the heat, residents in coastal regions should prepare for elevated humidity levels this evening, which may persist into Friday morning.

Winds are expected to be light to moderate, coming from the southeast and shifting northwest, with speeds ranging from 10 to 20 km/h. Occasionally, gusts may strengthen up to 30 km/h, potentially stirring up dust in open areas.

Beachgoers can enjoy favorable conditions today, as the sea will remain calm in both the Arabian Gulf and the Oman Sea.
