emirates7 - Abu Dhabi University (ADU) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Ministry of Industry and Advanced Technology (MoIAT), marking a major step toward enhancing collaboration in industrial innovation, academic engagement, and the development of national capabilities.
The agreement sets the foundation for joint efforts to boost industrial innovation, bridge the gap between academia and industry, and cultivate local talent by aligning scientific research with market demands. It also includes the creation of specialized training programs for students and startups, supporting the National Strategy for Industry and Advanced Technology as well as the “Make it in the Emirates” initiative.
The MoU was signed during the fourth edition of the “Make it in the Emirates” forum by Osama Amir Fadhel, Assistant Undersecretary for the Industrial Accelerators Sector at MoIAT, and Dr. Hamad Odhabi, Vice Chancellor of AI and Operational Excellence at ADU.
Fadhel emphasized the importance of academic institutions in nurturing talent and supporting sustainable industrial development. He noted that the partnership with ADU is a practical move to align research with industry requirements, empower students, and deliver innovative solutions that contribute to a dynamic, knowledge-driven economy.
Professor Ghassan Aouad, Chancellor of ADU, highlighted that by aligning academic efforts with national goals, the university is preparing future leaders with the skills and mindset needed to drive sustainable global progress.
