Dubai Chamber of Commerce launches Brazilian Business Council

emirates7 - The Dubai Chamber of Commerce, one of the three chambers under the Dubai Chambers umbrella, has announced the formation of the Brazilian Business Council.

This newly launched council aims to enhance collaboration between the business communities of Dubai and Brazil by deepening trade and investment links and fostering bilateral partnerships across a range of sectors.

The council’s first annual general meeting was recently held at the Dubai Chambers headquarters. Key topics of discussion included boosting investment in high-potential business sectors, building stronger connections between Brazilian and Dubai-based companies, facilitating knowledge and data exchange, and coordinating joint business events.

This initiative underscores Dubai’s growing role as a global business hub for Brazilian investors and companies. In 2024, non-oil trade between Dubai and Brazil reached AED 13.8 billion—a 35% increase compared to the previous year—signifying robust growth in bilateral trade.

By the end of 2024, the Dubai Chamber of Commerce had 364 active Brazilian member companies, reflecting a 22% increase from 2023.

Commenting on the development, Maha Al Gergawi, Vice President of Business Advocacy at Dubai Chambers, stated, “The creation of the Brazilian Business Council highlights our strong commitment to encouraging global investment in Dubai’s economy and reinforcing strategic partnerships. This council offers a vital platform to identify investment prospects and promote the sustainable growth of trade between Dubai and Brazil.”

Country-specific Business Councils under Dubai Chamber of Commerce work closely with the chamber to stimulate cross-border trade and investment. Their role is to strengthen economic ties by facilitating connections between Dubai-based businesses and companies from the represented countries.
