China unveils action plan to boost digital supply chains

emirates7 - China has unveiled a special action plan to foster the growth of leading enterprises and central cities in the realm of "digital-intelligent supply chains." The initiative was jointly issued on Wednesday by eight government bodies, including the Ministry of Commerce and the National Development and Reform Commission.

As reported by China Central Television (CCTV), the plan emphasizes accelerating the integration of digital and intelligent technologies into supply chains across key sectors such as agriculture, manufacturing, and wholesale and retail.

Key goals include cutting overall logistics costs and helping agricultural supply chain service providers establish intelligent commodity markets. The plan also supports the construction of smart factories and modern supply chain systems, driving a broader campaign to promote AI-powered industrial modernization.

Efforts will also focus on enhancing coordination within wholesale supply chains to offer comprehensive services like raw material sourcing, storage, and logistics.

Retailers are encouraged to adopt digital and intelligent tools to gather consumer data and quickly share insights with manufacturers and brand owners.

Additionally, the plan promotes the deployment of advanced technologies such as smart warehouses and autonomous delivery vehicles to further reduce logistics expenses across society.

By 2030, China aims to develop scalable, replicable models of digital-intelligent supply chains, with major industries operating autonomously, efficiently, and intelligently. The vision includes establishing around 100 national-level leading enterprises in this field, while also improving supply chain security and resilience.
