Dense fog and soaring temperatures expected for weekend

emirates7 - The National Center of Meteorology (NCM) has issued a fog warning for various regions across the UAE, cautioning that visibility may be significantly reduced in coastal and inland areas, especially towards the western parts of the country, until 9 a.m. on Saturday. This alert comes in response to reports of dense fog over Ghiyathi and Bada Dafas in the Al Dhafra region.

Authorities are urging drivers to exercise extreme caution on the roads, as the fog could cause sudden and severe drops in horizontal visibility.

Meanwhile, the nation is preparing for intense heat, with temperatures in inland areas expected to range between 44°C and 48°C. Coastal zones and islands are likely to experience highs of 40°C to 45°C, while temperatures in mountainous regions are projected to be between 35°C and 40°C.

Despite the morning fog, the overall weather today is expected to remain mostly clear, with partly cloudy skies likely in the eastern regions. Winds will be light to moderate, blowing from the southeast to northwest at speeds of 10 to 20 km/h, and occasionally gusting up to 30 km/h. The sea is forecast to remain calm in both the Arabian Gulf and the Oman Sea.
