emirates7 - Tadweer Group recently held the inaugural “Empowering Youth Platform” event, highlighting the vital role young people play in driving sustainability efforts across both the public and private sectors.
The event sought to encourage youth engagement in creating practical and impactful initiatives aligned with the nation’s sustainability goals. It also emphasized the importance of viewing waste as a valuable resource that can be repurposed to support a more sustainable future.
Over 50 attendees participated, including 37 youth council members representing prominent organizations such as ADNOC, Mubadala, the Environment Agency – Abu Dhabi (EAD), TAQA, NMDC Group, Emirates Youth Council, Abu Dhabi Ports, Higher Colleges of Technology, and Zayed University, among others.
Khalid Al Nuaimi, Director-General of the Federal Youth Authority, highlighted that empowering young people in sustainability is a key element of the UAE’s vision. He stressed the importance of motivating youth to take leadership roles in the green and circular economy, in alignment with the National Youth Agenda 2031.
Abdulwahed Juma Farish, Executive Director of Communications and Awareness at Tadweer Group and Chairman of the Youth Council Committee, reiterated the council’s dedication to enabling youth to spearhead sustainable change through actionable initiatives and innovative collaborations within the circular economy.
The event featured several expert-led sessions covering topics such as data-driven decision-making, placemaking, and raising public awareness. A significant outcome was the identification of over ten potential collaborative projects between different entities, further strengthening Tadweer Group’s position as a driving force behind youth-led sustainability partnerships.
Building on the launch of the Tadweer Group Youth Council at the 11th EcoWASTE Exhibition and Conference earlier this year, this platform underscores Tadweer Group’s ongoing commitment to involving stakeholders at every level to jointly develop sustainable solutions for a greener future.
