emirates7 - Strata Manufacturing has successfully completed the design and production of the Initial UHF Project (IUP) antenna panel, a key component for advanced radar systems. This milestone project, approved and delivered to Thales Emarat Technologies, was carried out under the Tawazun Economic Programme, overseen by the Tawazun Council.
This development represents a major leap for Strata as it ventures into metallic product design and manufacturing. For the past 15 years, Strata has been a leader in high-tech manufacturing, specializing in composite materials and carbon fibre components used in wide-body aircraft, satellites, and other cutting-edge sectors.
Sara Al Memari, Acting CEO of Strata Manufacturing, highlighted the achievement by saying, “Our confidence in Strata’s skilled workforce and the outstanding capabilities of our engineers made it possible to successfully design the IUP radar antenna panel for Thales Emarat Technologies. We are proud to be the first to contribute to such a globally advanced product.”
She added that this success underscores the UAE’s ambition to become a global innovation hub, driven by growing technical expertise and creative potential.
Abdelhafid Mordi, CEO of Thales Emarat Technologies and Thales in the UAE, also praised the achievement: “This is a testament to the UAE’s expanding capabilities in advanced manufacturing and technology. We’re thrilled to witness the continued growth of local innovation and talent, which strengthens the UAE’s position as a global technology leader.”
The IUP antenna panel is the first project that Strata has entirely designed and manufactured in-house, with significant input from its Emirati engineers. The team brought together advanced design knowledge, technical excellence, and an innovative mindset to develop a metallic structure that meets the demanding standards set by Thales.
