emirates7 - Meta, in collaboration with Creators HQ, hosted its inaugural regional event to launch “Edits,” a new video editing app tailored specifically for content creators.
The event, held at Creators HQ—the first dedicated hub for content creators in the UAE and the broader Middle East—included an interactive workshop titled “Mastering the Edit – Meta’s New Video Editing App.” This session gave attendees a deep dive into the app’s cutting-edge tools and functionalities.
“Edits” is available for free on both iOS and Android and is designed to make the creation and enhancement of short-form video content both seamless and creatively rich. The launch marks a major advancement in the digital content creation space.
This initiative follows the announcement of a strategic alliance between Meta and Creators HQ, revealed earlier this year during the 1 Billion Followers Summit in Dubai, held in January 2025.
With its platforms reaching more than 3.7 billion users globally, Meta aims to leverage this vast ecosystem to provide creators with new tools to express themselves and connect with audiences around the world.
Through Edits, Meta seeks to equip creators and influencers with powerful tools to craft impactful, high-quality content that inspires and benefits communities. The app includes an all-in-one suite for content production, editing, and sharing, simplifying the creative workflow from start to finish.
Key features include green screen background replacement, automatic multilingual subtitle generation, audio optimization, and background noise suppression. Additional capabilities include high-precision video editing, support for up to 10 minutes of high-resolution video recording, stickers, and the ability to export videos without watermarks. This enables seamless cross-platform sharing to Instagram, Facebook, and YouTube Shorts.
Moon Baz, Director of Global Partnerships for Africa, the Middle East, and Türkiye at Meta, described the partnership with Creators HQ as a major milestone in boosting the regional content creation sector. She emphasized the collaboration as a critical step toward supporting creators in producing original and impactful content.
Dr. Mohammad AlGhfeli, Managing Director of Creators HQ, highlighted the organization’s rapid growth, having formed alliances with leading global platforms and attracting top-tier influencers and creative talent worldwide.
He stated that the strategic partnership with Meta is playing a key role in shaping the region’s digital media landscape and encouraging the development of content that promotes positive social impact.
AlGhfeli also noted that the Edits app will enable creators to engage more creatively with a wider and more diverse audience.
During the event, Samer Jamal, Meta’s Director of Strategic Partnerships for music and comedy content in MENA, and Bahjat Hindi, Director of Partner Solutions at Meta, gave a detailed presentation showcasing the features and capabilities of Edits.
Meta’s decision to debut the app at Creators HQ underscores the hub’s growing reputation as a global center for content creation and its pivotal role in fostering the creative economy.
