emirates7 - The Mohammed Bin Rashid School of Government (MBRSG) has introduced the “AI Ethics Assessment Programme” as part of its executive education offerings. This initiative features the IEEE CertifAIEd curriculum, developed by the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE), and is being delivered in collaboration with the UAE’s Artificial Intelligence, Digital Economy, and Remote Work Applications Office.
Scheduled to take place from 26th to 30th May 2025 at MBRSG’s headquarters in Dubai, the programme aims to support the development of institutional frameworks for the ethical and responsible use of smart technologies. It aligns with the UAE’s national strategy to solidify its position as a global leader in artificial intelligence and promote greater public understanding of AI ethics.
The initiative reflects the visionary leadership of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister, and Ruler of Dubai, particularly his directive to integrate AI into educational curricula and cultivate a generation ready to shape the future.
The programme will equip participants with the tools to evaluate Autonomous Intelligent Systems (AIS) based on the IEEE CertifAIEd framework, focusing on essential ethical criteria such as transparency, accountability, privacy, and the mitigation of algorithmic bias.
Dr. Ali bin Sebaa Al Marri, Executive President of MBRSG, emphasized that the programme underscores the institution’s commitment to nurturing national talent capable of designing AI policies that balance innovation with ethical governance. He highlighted that such efforts contribute to building a knowledge-based ecosystem in line with the UAE’s vision of pioneering global digital governance standards.
Targeted at professionals from various sectors—particularly those working in strategy, compliance, data governance, technology, and innovation—the programme includes in-depth training on AI ethics principles, practical applications of the IEEE CertifAIEd criteria, the ethical evaluation of smart technologies, and considerations related to generative AI. Participants will also undergo hands-on training and complete an exam to qualify as CertifAIEd Assessors.
