emirates7 - The UAE’s HM ALCHAHINE delivered a remarkable performance to clinch victory in the fifth leg of the prestigious UAE President’s Cup Series for Purebred Arabian Horses, held on Sunday, 18th May 2025, at the historic Capannelle Racecourse in Rome, Italy.
Now in its 32nd edition, the UAE President’s Cup Series continues to cement its reputation on the international stage, showcasing world-class Arabian horse racing across Europe’s top tracks and further enhancing its global influence.
Held under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan—Vice President, Deputy Prime Minister, and Chairman of the Presidential Court—the series reflects his visionary leadership and enduring commitment to promoting the Arabian horse heritage. The Cup’s mission is aligned with long-term strategies to support breeders, owners, and the global Arabian horse community.
HM ALCHAHINE, a colt sired by Al Mourtajez out of Al Chyhanah (by Munjiz), is owned by Hilal Al Alawi, trained by Élisabeth Bernard of the Jean-François Bernard team, and was skillfully ridden by Cristian Demuro. He surged ahead at the final bend and powered down the home stretch to seal a commanding win—his eighth victory in nine starts.
The Group 2 turf race, run over 2000 metres, featured a competitive field of 16 elite Purebred Arabians from Italy and across Europe. The race carried a total prize fund of €300,000, with HM ALCHAHINE clocking a winning time of 2:09.8 minutes.
Finishing in second was Afjan (TM Fred Texas x Mazoon by Amer), representing Al Shaqab Racing, trained by Jean de Mieulle and ridden by Olivier D’Andigne. Third place went to Extra Time (Valiant Boy x Sand Witchh by Burning Sand), owned by J. Nevens, trained by David Morisson, and ridden by Alexis Lemer.
