UAE begins preparations to host 15th UN Congress on Crime Prevention and Criminal Justice

emirates7 - On Sunday, Abdullah bin Sultan bin Awad Al Nuaimi, the UAE Minister of Justice, led the inaugural preparatory meeting of the Higher Committee responsible for organizing the country’s hosting of the 15th United Nations Congress on Crime Prevention and Criminal Justice.

Scheduled to take place in Abu Dhabi from April 25 to 30, 2026, the congress will be held under the overarching theme: “Accelerating crime prevention, criminal justice and the rule of law: protecting people and planet and achieving the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development in the digital age.”

The event is expected to draw around 3,000 participants, including high-ranking international officials, ministers, representatives from governmental and non-governmental organizations, as well as prominent experts.

Key discussions will address current and emerging challenges and opportunities in crime prevention and criminal justice, with a particular focus on the impact of digital transformation on the rule of law.

At the meeting, held at the Ministry of Justice headquarters, the Minister emphasized the importance of cohesive collaboration with strategic partners across the UAE to ensure comprehensive readiness across all sectors and to showcase the UAE’s capacity to host world-class international events.
