Families cornerstone of sustainable development: Minister of Family

emirates7 - Sana bint Mohammed Suhail, the UAE's Minister of Family, has reiterated the country’s dedication to strengthening families, recognizing them as the foundation of sustainable development, in a statement marking the International Day of Families.

She emphasized the central role families have played in shaping the UAE’s identity and progress since its inception. According to the minister, families provide essential emotional, intellectual, and social support, forming the backbone of generational stability and growth.

"In the UAE, the family is more than just a social structure — it is the core from which generations draw strength and guidance. Families preserve our national identity, uphold Emirati traditions, and ensure cultural values are passed down, keeping us deeply connected to both our heritage and our aspirations for the future," she stated.

Suhail also pointed out that the theme of this year’s International Day of Families closely mirrors the UAE’s national vision, underlining the family’s crucial role in driving sustainability across all areas of development.

"The UAE remains steadfast in its belief that families are the cornerstone of lasting development. We are committed to implementing policies that uplift and empower families, recognizing their vital role in shaping a resilient, forward-looking society," she concluded.
