Russia’s international reserves rise to $680 billion in April

emirates7 - In April 2025, Russia's international reserves grew by 5.1 percent, reaching a total of $680.271 billion. According to the Central Bank of Russia, the reserves, which comprise gold and foreign currencies, increased from $647.358 billion to $680.271 billion during the month.

The value of gold in the reserves rose by $18.086 billion, bringing it to $247.036 billion.

As a result, gold’s proportion of the total reserves climbed to a record-high 36.3 percent. Russia's international reserves are liquid foreign assets held by the Central Bank and the Russian government, and they include foreign currencies, Special Drawing Rights (SDRs), and gold.
