Presight opens inaugural regional office in Astana

emirates7 - During the official visit of H.H. Sheikh Khaled bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi, to Kazakhstan, Presight—a leading UAE-based big data analytics and AI firm—announced the opening of its first regional office in Astana. The launch was marked by the presence of Dr. Sultan Ahmed Al Jaber, UAE Minister of Industry and Advanced Technology and Chairman of Presight.

The new office, located within the Astana International Financial Centre, underscores the UAE’s ongoing support for Kazakhstan’s digital transformation and critical AI initiatives. As Presight’s operations expand across Kazakhstan, the Astana office will serve as a strategic base to support local projects more effectively and will act as the company’s regional hub for Central Asia.

Presight currently employs over 40 Kazakh nationals at the new office, reflecting its dedication to nurturing local talent and contributing to the country’s tech-driven progress.

The company’s growing presence in Kazakhstan aligns with national efforts to strengthen AI leadership in the region, including initiatives such as the Alem.AI National Centre for Artificial Intelligence—Central Asia’s first major AI hub. Within this initiative, Presight plans to launch an AI Command and Control Centre at Alem.AI, which will function as the central brain behind Astana’s smart city infrastructure. This advanced system will provide intelligent oversight and decision-making capabilities for essential urban operations, including transportation, energy, public safety, and infrastructure management.

The opening ceremony was attended by senior UAE and Kazakh officials, including Dr. Sultan Ahmed Al Jaber; Mansour Ibrahim Al Mansouri, Chairman of Abu Dhabi’s Department of Health and Vice Chairman of Presight; and Presight CEO Thomas Pramotedham. From Kazakhstan, Zhenis Kassymbek, Mayor of Astana, and Zhaslan Madiyev, Minister of Digital Development, Innovation and Aerospace Industry, were also present.

The Astana smart city initiative aims to cement Kazakhstan’s role as a regional AI frontrunner and a global model for digital innovation. By improving areas such as public safety, infrastructure responsiveness, and sustainable energy management, the project supports broader governmental goals for enhancing community wellbeing.

Importantly, 60% of the project is being executed by Kazakh companies, signaling a strong commitment to local economic participation and development.
