Nasdaq Dubai welcomes US$500 million Green Sukuk listing by OMNIYAT

emirates7 - Nasdaq Dubai has announced the listing of a US$500 million Green Sukuk issued by OMNIYAT, a prominent Dubai-based real estate developer. This three-year Sukuk, set to mature on 6 May 2028, was issued under a US$1 billion Trust Certificate Issuance Programme and offers a profit rate of 8.375%.

The proceeds from the Sukuk will be used to finance environmentally sustainable real estate projects within OMNIYAT’s portfolio, focusing on energy efficiency, eco-friendly construction practices, and improved environmental performance.

The issuance attracted significant interest from both regional and global investors. Initial pricing guidance around 8% was tightened to the final yield, highlighting strong investor confidence in OMNIYAT’s vision and the broader resilience of Dubai’s property sector.

To mark the occasion, OMNIYAT’s Founder and Executive Chairman, Mahdi Amjad, rang the opening bell at Nasdaq Dubai, joined by Hamed Ali, CEO of Nasdaq Dubai and the Dubai Financial Market (DFM).

Mahdi Amjad described the listing as a milestone that goes beyond finance, symbolizing OMNIYAT’s dedication to sustainable development and responsible investment. He emphasized that the successful and oversubscribed issuance illustrates a growing investor preference for financial instruments that support both profitability and environmental stewardship. He also praised Nasdaq Dubai for offering a globally connected platform that enhances visibility and facilitates access to international capital markets.

Hamed Ali welcomed the listing, noting that OMNIYAT’s Green Sukuk strengthens Nasdaq Dubai’s position in both the ESG and Islamic finance arenas. He emphasized the increasing contribution of private-sector initiatives to sustainable finance and reaffirmed Nasdaq Dubai’s commitment to supporting OMNIYAT’s market growth.

With this listing, Nasdaq Dubai's total ESG-linked debt instruments have reached US$29.6 billion, with green instruments accounting for more than 60% of that total. The exchange now hosts US$96.2 billion in Sukuk listings, while the cumulative value of all debt instruments listed exceeds US$138 billion.
