emirates7 - French golfer Martin Couvra has continued his impressive debut season on the DP World Tour by securing his first victory at the Turkish Airlines Open.
The 22-year-old, who earned promotion from the HotelPlanner Tour last year, had already recorded four top-ten finishes this season, most recently placing fifth at the Hainan Classic.
A superb final-round score of 64 sealed the win for Couvra at Regnum Carya, giving him a 17-under-par total and a two-shot lead over China’s Haitong Li and Spain’s Jorge Campillo.
Couvra had been in front at the halfway mark, but a third-round 72 had dropped him four strokes behind heading into the last day.
“Winning in my rookie season on the DP World Tour is just incredible—it feels like a dream,” said Couvra. “Every morning I wake up hoping to win tournaments, so to get an early one under my belt feels amazing. I’m really happy.”
