emirates7 - Shabab Al Ahli have been crowned champions of the 48th UAE President’s Cup, clinching the trophy for the 11th time in their history with a 2-1 win over Sharjah in the final held at Mohamed bin Zayed Stadium in Abu Dhabi.
Sharjah opened the scoring with a goal from Marcos Meloni in the 14th minute, but Shabab Al Ahli responded just before halftime as Yuri Cesar equalised in first-half stoppage time (45+1). Cesar struck again in the 64th minute, sealing the comeback and securing the victory.
This win allows Shabab Al Ahli to surpass Sharjah in the all-time President’s Cup standings, moving ahead with 11 titles to Sharjah’s 10.
The victory also marks a landmark achievement for Shabab Al Ahli, as it becomes their fourth trophy of the season following triumphs in the ADNOC Pro League, the UAE Super Cup, and the UAE-Qatar Super Cup.
