Unstoppable UAE clinch ACC Men’s Under 16 West Zone Cup title

emirates7 - Skipper Ayaan Misbah once again showcased his batting brilliance as the UAE clinched the ACC Men’s Under-16 West Zone Cup with a dominant 145-run victory over Kuwait in the final held in Qatar on Monday night.

Maintaining their unbeaten streak from the league stage, the UAE delivered a commanding performance in the final, amassing a formidable total of 317 for nine in their 50 overs.

Ayaan, who finished as the tournament’s highest run-scorer, led from the front with a stunning 143 – his third century of the competition – forming the backbone of the UAE innings. He was well supported by Aryan Thapar (64), Shanshank Mantra (37), and Raizal Nadir Shah (31), who all chipped in with valuable contributions.

In response, Kuwait were dismissed for 172 in 43.1 overs. Nasim Khan starred with the ball, claiming 4 for 20, while Aryan Thapar added to his all-round performance with three wickets as the UAE bowlers dismantled the opposition batting lineup.

The Emirates Cricket Board lauded the team's triumph and praised the players for retaining the title they had won last year in Sharjah.

“We’re thrilled with the Under-16 team’s performance in Doha, which saw them successfully defend the ACC Men’s U16 West Zone Cup,” the ECB said in a statement. “We remain committed to nurturing these young talents who represent the future of UAE cricket and wish them and the coaching staff continued success in their journeys.”
