Spearheaded by the Advanced Technology Research Council (ATRC) in strategic collaboration with the UAE Public Prosecution, this groundbreaking summit is set to shape the global conversation around the governance of rapidly evolving technologies.
Taking place at a critical time in the advancement of artificial intelligence (AI), quantum computing, and Web3, GETS 2025 aims to develop strong governance structures that safeguard societal values while fostering innovation. The summit will bring together over 500 leaders from governments, industry, academia, and civil society to engage in open, inclusive dialogue and forge collaborative pathways forward.
Faisal Al Bannai, Advisor to the UAE President for Strategic Research and Advanced Technology Affairs and Secretary-General of ATRC, emphasized the summit’s importance: “Innovation without visionary governance cannot be sustained. GETS 2025 reflects the UAE’s commitment to coupling technological leadership with ethical, inclusive frameworks that build trust and promote global progress.”
Echoing this, Chancellor Dr. Hamad Saif Al Shamsi, UAE Attorney General, remarked, “As technology advances at an unprecedented pace, we must develop a smart judicial ecosystem that protects rights and ensures justice. GETS 2025 is a platform for reinforcing our pledge to adaptive legislation and pioneering governance that support societal progress while preserving human dignity in the digital era.”
Dr. Sultan bin Saif Al Neyadi, Minister of State for Youth Affairs, underscored the essential role of young people: “Tomorrow’s governance must be shaped by those attuned to today’s technological trends. Our youth bring the creativity, assurance, and responsibility needed to lead. At GETS 2025, we aim to empower them to steer vital conversations and shape the ethical infrastructure of our digital future.”
This initiative is aligned with the UAE’s strategic commitment, backed by investments exceeding AED13 billion, to integrate AI into legislative frameworks, public services, and government operations as part of its digital economy agenda.
