Lebanese President hails meeting with Mohamed bin Zayed as exceeding expectation

emirates7 - During his official visit to the United Arab Emirates, President Joseph Aoun of Lebanon met with editors-in-chief of local media outlets to discuss regional matters and the strong ties between Lebanon and the UAE.

President Aoun conveyed his heartfelt gratitude for the warm reception and hospitality he received upon arrival. He described his meeting with UAE President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan as exceptionally positive, noting that the cordial atmosphere had been apparent from their very first phone conversation before the visit.

He acknowledged the UAE’s long-standing support for Lebanon, emphasizing that it reflects the strong historical and brotherly bond shared by the two nations.

Turning to domestic affairs, President Aoun stated that Lebanon is experiencing increasing political and security stability. He affirmed that the government is actively working to enhance the country's economic and living conditions through a series of vital structural reforms.

He added that while many Arab and international partners have expressed willingness to assist Lebanon, such support is contingent upon continued progress in these reforms, which are already underway as part of a broader economic recovery strategy.

Regarding security, President Aoun reassured that Lebanon’s internal situation remains stable, despite regional challenges. He commended the professionalism and commitment of the country's security forces in preserving order and safety.

Lastly, he voiced pride in the Lebanese diaspora in the UAE, recognizing their constructive role in strengthening bilateral relations and thanking the UAE leadership for their ongoing support and care.
