Qatar’s Ministry of Culture participates in Abu Dhabi International Book Fair

emirates7 - Qatar's Ministry of Culture is participating in the 34th edition of the Abu Dhabi International Book Fair, held under the theme "Knowledge Illuminates Our Community," with involvement from publishing houses and exhibitors from 96 countries.

In an interview with the Emirates News Agency (WAM), Jassim Ahmed Al Buainain, Director of the Ministry's Libraries Department, shared that the Ministry is showcasing a variety of its own publications along with works from Qatari publishing houses, aiming to support local publishers and give them international visibility.

He emphasized that the participation is intended to highlight Qatar's intellectual and cultural contributions through a selection of new releases. Additionally, the Ministry is promoting its digital library platform and shedding light on the ongoing development of Qatar's publishing industry. It is also raising awareness about the upcoming Doha International Book Fair, scheduled from June 8th to 17th.

Hamad Bin Khalifa University Press is also representing Qatar at the fair, presenting a carefully selected collection of works, including fiction, literature, short stories, and academic research.
