DMCC announces 7% growth in Indian companies

emirates7 - DMCC, a leading global business district facilitating international trade through Dubai, has announced that more than 260 Indian companies have joined its ranks in the past year, bringing the total number of companies operating within the district to nearly 4,000. This growth reflects a 7% increase year-over-year, with Indian businesses now making up 16% of DMCC's total member base.

The announcement coincided with DMCC’s roadin India, which included two major events in Mumbai and Hyderabad. These forums brought together business leaders, government officials, and industry representatives to explore opportunities for trade and investment through DMCC, emphasizing Dubai’s role as a strategic platform for Indian businesses aiming for global expansion.

Bilateral trade between the UAE and India surpassed US$85 billion in 2024, a growth fueled by the Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (CEPA) signed in 2022. DMCC urged Indian companies to capitalize on this momentum and leverage the benefits of the CEPA.

Ahmed Bin Sulayem, Executive Chairman and CEO of DMCC, highlighted the strengthening UAE-India relationship, marked by the historic visit of H.H. Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai. He emphasized the ongoing expansion of trade in strategic sectors such as investment, services, infrastructure, technology, and food security. DMCC aims to build a new model for inter-regional collaboration, aligning its offerings with India's strengths in commodities, high-value services, and emerging technologies.

The roadwas organized in partnership with the Confederation of Indian Industry and the Federation of Telangana Chambers of Commerce and Industry, showcasing opportunities for Indian businesses to streamline operations, enhance supply chains, and access rapidly growing markets.

As part of its global "Made For Trade Live" program, DMCC continues to visit key international markets to foster deeper collaboration. With over 25,000 member companies and contributing 15% of Dubai’s annual FDI, DMCC remains a pivotal hub for international growth and innovation.
