emirates7 - The China International Communications Group (CICG), through its Centre for Europe and Africa, organised the "China Today Intangible Cultural Heritages" exhibition during the Abu Dhabi International Book Fair (ADIBF).
The exhibition is designed to celebrate and promote China's intangible cultural heritage — a core element of its national identity — while fostering deeper cultural exchanges between China and Arab nations.
On display is a variety of culturally significant items, including daily-use and decorative porcelain, traditional garments crafted with heritage techniques, tea products, and goods related to traditional Chinese medicine.
Visitors can also experience Chinese calligraphy, intricately crafted jewellery, and a selection of innovative creative products that reinterpret intangible cultural heritage for the modern age.
Founded in October 1949, CICG has played a key role in presenting China's progress to international audiences and advancing cross-cultural dialogue. Each year, CICG publishes around 3,000 titles in over 40 languages, distributing them to more than 180 countries and regions, while reaching a global digital readership.
The Centre for Europe and Africa, a division of CICG, focuses on international communication efforts across Europe, Africa, and West Asia. It operates eight multilingual websites in Chinese, English, French, Arabic, and German, engages in communication research, fosters international partnerships, and oversees its offices throughout the Middle East and Africa.
