emirates7 - Saeed Mubarak Al Hajeri, Assistant Minister of Foreign Affairs for Economic and Trade Affairs and the UAE’s Sherpa to BRICS, led the UAE delegation at the second BRICS Sherpa meeting, held from 23rd to 26th April 2025 in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
The gathering served as a preparatory session for the upcoming BRICS Foreign Ministers' Meeting, scheduled for 28–29 April 2025. Throughout the meeting, participants worked on drafting the Foreign Ministers' Statement and explored key areas for strengthened cooperation among member states.
In his address, Al Hajeri highlighted the importance of delivering concrete economic achievements that would benefit the BRICS economies. He also praised the spirit of cooperation and the commitment shown by member countries to deepening economic ties.
On the sidelines of the event, Al Hajeri conducted a series of bilateral meetings, including discussions with the Brazilian Sherpa and representatives from several other countries, focused on enhancing bilateral relations and exploring new avenues for collaboration.
