China launches new data relay satellite

emirates7 - China has successfully launched a new data relay satellite into orbit from the Xichang Satellite Launch Centre in Sichuan Province on Sunday.

As reported by People's Daily Online, the Tianlian II-05 satellite was carried into space aboard a Long March-3B rocket and has reached its designated orbit.

Tianlian II-05 belongs to China's second-generation series of geosynchronous orbit data-relay satellites.

The satellite will offer data relay and telemetry, tracking, and command (TT&C) services for crewed missions, including spaceships and space stations, as well as support medium and low-Earth orbit resource satellites and assist with TT&C operations during spacecraft launches.
