Abu Dhabi Marine Sports Club crowns winners of sailing race

emirates7 - The Abu Dhabi Marine Sports Club successfully wrapped up its sailing race yesterday at the Abu Dhabi Breakwater. The event featured nine different categories and saw the participation of 65 young sailors from the club’s academy, as part of its ongoing efforts to nurture junior and youth talent in the sport.

The event was graced by Sheikh Ahmed bin Hamdan Al Nahyan, Chairman of the UAE Sailing and Rowing Federation, and Sheikha Shamsa bint Ahmed bin Hamdan Al Nahyan.

In terms of results, Hamad Al Muhairi claimed first place in the Optimist Junior category, while Khalifa Al Rumaithi took the top spot in the Optimist category. Simon Christoff emerged victorious in the ILCA 4 Junior category, and Abdullah Al Zubaidi won the ILCA 4 Youth division.

Marwa Al Hammadi secured the ILCA 4 Girls title, Majid Al Marzouqi triumphed in the ILCA 6 Junior category, and Othman Al Hammadi topped the ILCA 6 Youth group. Duha Al Bishr won the ILCA 6 Girls category.

The awards were presented by Nasser Al Dhaheri, Acting Director of the Marine Sports Department, along with Khalifa Al Saadi, Head of the Club’s Academy.
