UAE Athletics Federation organizes Emirates Cup Championship next week

emirates7 - The UAE Athletics Federation has announced the Emirates Cup Championship, scheduled to take place from April 25 to 27 at the Military Sports Division Stadium in Abu Dhabi. The event will feature competitions across various categories and will serve as the final stage of the current athletics season.

The Federation stated that all technical and logistical preparations have been finalized to ensure the championship’s success. These include the completion of registration procedures, the approval of technical regulations, and coordination with the Military Sports Division to streamline the organization of the event.

In parallel, the UAE national athletics team returned home yesterday after participating in the 6th Asian U-18 Athletics Championship, held in Saudi Arabia from April 15 to 18, with 29 countries taking part.

The team delivered a remarkable performance, highlighted by runner Maryam Karim’s double gold medal victory in the 200m and 400m hurdles events. Her achievement marked a significant milestone for the UAE in international junior competitions and helped the team secure seventh place overall among the 29 nations.
