emirates7 - Emirates SkyCargo, in partnership with Allied Transport Company, is set to introduce hydrogen-powered trucks to its fleet, with deployment scheduled for the first quarter of 2026. These vehicles, currently under production, will mark a major step in the airline’s transition toward alternative fuel technologies.
The Emirates SkyCargo fleet, consisting of over 60 trucks, operates between Dubai World Central (DWC), Dubai International Airport (DXB), and throughout the domestic region. The new addition of five hydrogen-powered trucks is aimed at cutting carbon emissions and improving local air quality.
These environmentally friendly trucks will maintain the same cargo capacity as the current diesel models, capable of transporting up to 28 tonnes. They will be refuelled at dedicated hydrogen fueling stations located in Expo City and Al Qudra (Dewa station), with each full tank offering a range of up to 700 kilometres.
Badr Abbas, Divisional Senior Vice President at Emirates SkyCargo, stated, “Integrating hydrogen-powered trucks into our operations is a significant milestone in our journey toward reducing emissions in ground logistics. We remain committed to adopting cleaner fuels and advanced technologies that support sustainability without compromising the quality of service we deliver to our clients.”
Allied Transport Company CEO, Ali Bin Beyat, commented, “Together with Emirates SkyCargo, we are rolling out hydrogen trucks across the UAE—particularly in Dubai—to promote a more sustainable and eco-conscious logistics sector. This move aligns with both Emirates SkyCargo’s environmental strategy and the UAE’s broader vision for a greener future.”
