Rory McIlroy wins The Masters to complete career Grand Slam

emirates7 - Rory McIlroy triumphed over Justin Rose in a dramatic play-off to win The Masters, securing his place in golf history by completing the career Grand Slam.

The Northern Irish golfer clinched his fifth Major title at Augusta National after an electrifying final round in which four players held at least a share of the lead at various points.

With this victory, the World Number Two becomes only the sixth player to win all four Major championships, joining a legendary group that includes Gene Sarazen, Ben Hogan, Gary Player, Jack Nicklaus, and Tiger Woods—the last to achieve the feat back in 2000.

McIlroy accomplished the milestone on his 11th attempt at The Masters, having claimed the other three Majors between 2011 and 2014.

“This feels unbelievable,” said McIlroy, who now leads the Race to Dubai rankings. “It’s my 17th time playing here, and I had started to question whether my moment would ever come.”
