emirates7 - Under the guidance of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister of the UAE, and Ruler of Dubai, and with the patronage of H.H. Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, Chairman of the Dubai Supreme Council of Energy, Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) is set to host the 27th edition of the Water, Energy, Technology, and Environment Exhibition (WETEX) from 30 September to 2 October 2025 at the Dubai World Trade Centre.

WETEX stands as a leading international event focused on sustainability, and is the largest exhibition of its kind in the region, encompassing key sectors such as energy, water, environmental technologies, and sustainable development. Globally, it is regarded as one of the foremost specialized exhibitions in these fields.

Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, MD & CEO of DEWA and the Founder and Chairman of WETEX, credited the continued support from the UAE’s leadership for the exhibition’s global prominence over the past 25 years. He noted that WETEX has become a vital platform to accelerate the transition to clean energy and achieve net-zero targets.

“WETEX reflects the UAE’s leadership in renewable energy adoption across the Middle East and North Africa and aligns with the UAE Net Zero 2050 strategic initiative and the Dubai Clean Energy Strategy 2050,” said Al Tayer. “It further establishes Dubai’s status as an international hub for sustainable development and the green economy.”

Each year, the exhibition gathers thousands of stakeholders from both the public and private sectors, along with global officials, experts, researchers, and decision-makers. It serves as a venue to exchange insights and showcase cutting-edge technologies contributing to a more sustainable and secure future.

The 2024 edition of WETEX attracted 50,598 visitors globally and featured 2,800 exhibitors from 65 countries. It included 21 international pavilions, presenting innovations in sectors like renewable energy, digital transformation, cybersecurity, sustainable urban development, smart grids, green transport, occupational health and safety, and sustainability in the oil and gas industry.

Highlights of the event included the Green Mobility Zone, the Future Energy Landscape Forum focused on sustainability in oil and gas, the Health and Safety Hub, and a high-level Leadership Roundtable featuring influential executives and industry leaders. Numerous workshops and discussions also explored the advantages of establishing business operations in Dubai.

During the 26th edition, WETEX hosted over 130 expert-led sessions and panel discussions addressing a range of pressing topics — from innovation in clean energy and electric vehicles to water and waste management, green mobility, climate strategy, ESG principles, digital integration, decarbonization, and smart cities.

These sessions reinforced WETEX’s role as a global platform for advancing sustainable solutions and fostering dialogue among leaders in energy and environmental sectors.
