EGA launches season three of 'Ramp-Up' to empower UAE entrepreneurs

emirates7 - Emirates Global Aluminium (EGA) has announced the launch of the third season of its flagship program, EGA Ramp-Up, aimed at empowering the next generation of UAE entrepreneurs in line with the Entrepreneurial Nation Strategy 2031.

Supported by the Ministry of Economy, EGA Ramp-Up provides aspiring entrepreneurs with expert advice, mentorship, intensive training, and networking opportunities. The program focuses on businesses that are driven by sustainability and have a strong potential to boost the economy and new jobs.

The first two seasons of the program saw hundreds of entrepreneurs participate, collectively generating over 1,000 new jobs. Notably, more than 35% of the start-ups in previous editions were founded by female entrepreneurs.

For the third season, EGA has partnered with Microsoft UAE to offer capacity-building workshops and mentorship on developing technology-driven strategies and scaling up businesses.

Alia bint Abdulla Al Mazrouei, Minister of State for Entrepreneurship, emphasized the significance of the continued partnership between the Ministry of Economy and EGA. She pointed out that many Ramp-Up finalists have made it to the UAE’s Future 100 companies list, with several Future 100 companies also participating in the program, showcasing the mutual growth and value of their collaboration.

Yasser Al Gergawi, Director-General of Sandooq Al Watan, stressed the importance of supporting Emirati entrepreneurs to drive the nation’s growth and diversification. He highlighted how initiatives like EGA Ramp-Up provide the essential tools and support for youth to turn their innovative ideas into impactful businesses.

Abdulnasser bin Kalban, CEO of EGA, emphasized the role of entrepreneurship in economic diversification and long-term growth. He shared that the program’s aim is to help innovative businesses reach their full potential and make a positive impact on both the community and the environment. Some of the start-ups from this season may even become suppliers to EGA.

Applications for the third season of EGA Ramp-Up are open and will close on May 11, 2025.
