Ajman Tourism Development Department eyes more tourists from CIS markets

emirates7 - The Ajman Tourism Development Department, led by its Director-General Mahmood Khaleel Alhashmi, has initiated a promotional tour targeting the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) from 14th to 21st September. The tour aims to strengthen ties with tourism industry representatives in Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, and Azerbaijan, with the goal of attracting more visitors to Ajman.

The itinerary includes stops in Almaty, Tashkent, and Baku, where Ajman’s latest tourist attractions and upcoming projects are being showcased to boost its status as a global tourism hub. Ajman has experienced a notable rise in visitors from the CIS countries, with a 12% increase in both tourist numbers and overnight stays. Additionally, hotel occupancy has risen by 3%, and room revenues have grown by 5% compared to the previous year, underscoring the emirate’s growing appeal.

Alhashmi highlighted that the primary objective of the tour is to elevate Ajman’s profile as a premier tourist destination on both regional and global stages. The visit aims to strengthen strategic partnerships and explore new opportunities for collaboration and knowledge exchange with key tourism players in the CIS.

He further emphasized that by showcasing Ajman’s rich cultural heritage and its ongoing transformation, the emirate hopes to attract more visitors and new opportunities for sustainable economic growth. The promotional tour serves as a strategic initiative to raise international awareness about Ajman’s unique tourism offerings, foster global partnerships, and expand tourism from CIS countries, thereby boosting visitor numbers and tourism revenue, supporting the local economy, and generating employment opportunities.
