emirates7 - The European Commission has joined the list of entities condemning the Israeli occupation's announcement of tenders for the construction of a settlement project known as (E1) in the occupied West Bank.

Commission President Ursula von der Leyen said in a post on the X platform, "The Israeli government's decision to issue tenders for the construction of the 'E1' settlement project is unacceptable," adding, "We have long opposed this step."

France, Britain, Germany, Italy, the Netherlands, Canada, and Norway called on the Israeli occupation to immediately abandon its plans for the new settlement project and halt the expansion of settlements in the occupied West Bank.
