emirates7 - A fighter jet crashed and erupted into flames at Marine Corps Air Station (MCAS) Miramar in California on Friday, according to a spokesman for MCAS Miramar.
"The F-35 assigned to the 3rd Marine Aircraft Group 11 crashed at Marine Corps Air Station Miramar around 10 am PT," said Spokesman Lt. Blake Starbuck in a statement.
The crash sparked a fire in a field on the base, he said, adding that the pilot ejected and has been recovered.
