Oil prices rise as Brent climbs above $90 per barrel

emirates7 - Oil prices settled more than US$1 higher on Friday, recording their biggest monthly gain since March, supported by developments in the Middle East.

Brent crude futures rose US$1.09, or 1.2 percent, to settle at US$90.12 a barrel, while US West Texas Intermediate (WTI) crude futures gained US$1.08, or 1.3 percent, to close at US$84.67 a barrel.

For the month of July, Brent crude advanced 24 percent, while WTI posted a 21 percent gain.
