emirates7 - A magnitude 7 earthquake struck the Vanuatu Islands on Monday, according to the German Research Centre for Geosciences (GFZ).

The US Tsunami Warning Centre said there was no tsunami threat from the earthquake.

The quake occurred at a depth of 130 kilometres, GFZ ​said.
