Filipino expats can now get contracts verified at VFS centre in Dubai

Anew Contract Verification Centre (CVC) for Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs) across the UAE has been formally inaugurated this week in Dubai.

The Dubai CVC can be found within the world’s largest visa application centre, located in Wafi City.

The centres — in both Dubai and Abu Dhabi — enable OFWs to conveniently book appointments and make payments online before completing in-person document submission at the centre. Once the Migrant Workers Office (MWO) finalises the verification, applicants are notified on their registered email addresses to access their Overseas Employment Certificate (OEC) and verified contract.

The centre was inaugurated by officials from the MWO and VFS Global.

Streamlined service

The service aims to simplify the employment contract verification process, offering OFWs a more accessible, efficient, and technology-enabled experience.

Designed to improve user experience and accessibility, the centres feature:

Extended operating hours

Real-time application tracking

Secure online payment options

Convenience-fee waiver during the first 30 days of operations

Last month, the online features for booking and payment were announced, with the aim of streamlining the entire process.

Contract verification is an important process, as it is one of the steps to obtain an OEC — which is mandatory for Filipino workers outside the Philippines. It also ensures their employment contracts meet the standards and protections set by the government.
