Dubai has announced the official working hours for government entities in the emirate during the holy month of Ramadan. According to the circular, working hours will be 9am to 2.30pm on Monday to Thursday, and 9 to 12pm on Fridays.

Public sector entities can also implement flexible working hours during the morning shift, allowing employees to start work between 7 and 10am, while completing the official number of working hours.

Remote work may also be offered to employees whose duties permit it. An eligible employee can get up to two days off-site work per week. This schedule gives residents more time to spend with their families and participate in the social and festive atmosphere of the holy month.

The circular also noted that government entities must determine working hours for employees on shift schedules or whose roles are linked to public services or facility management, ensuring operational requirements are met while maintaining high-quality service delivery.

The Dubai Government Human Resources Department (DGHR) stated that these measures are part of the government's approach to adopting flexible work policies that consider the needs of employees and their families, promote psychological and social well-being, and positively impact productivity, job satisfaction, and sustainable institutional performance.

The UAE Federal Government also announced similar working hours for employees and entities may either follow the approved flexible work regulations during working days in Ramadan or grant employees flexibility to work remotely on Fridays. This must be at most 70 per cent of the entity's total number of employees, in accordance with the approved controls.
