-A spokesperson from Air India clarified that the 'wingtips of the two aircraft made contact' after the incident with the Indigo flight
Two flights collided on the runway at Mumbai's Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport on Tuesday evening.
The nation's Directorate General of Civil Aviation said that while Air India's AI2732 "was taxiing from C1 towards M4 for departure", Indigo's flight was arriving and joining B1.
This caused the right wing tips of both aircraft to touch each other while taxiing. "Both aircraft returned to the bay for inspections," the authority said.
Air India later issued a statement, saying that the aforementioned flight intended to depart to Coimbatore, had been delayed after the incident.
