Truck toll gates in Sharjah will now be converted to electronic gates called Masar, it was announced during a meeting of the Sharjah Executive Council.
The electronic gates aim to regulate truck traffic, facilitate crossing procedures, enhance traffic flow, and improve the efficiency of the transport system.
During the meeting, the Council also adopted a draft law on regulating correctional institutions in Sharjah. The draft law which aims to outline the general policy of the institutions that implement specialised programmes that contribute to achieving security and reform, preserving the dignity of inmates and protecting their rights.
The Council directed that the draft be referred to the Sharjah Consultative Council for discussion and completion of its legislative cycle.
The Council also discussed a number of topics related to monitoring the performance of government departments and agencies, and legislation and laws aimed at developing the government work system, raising the efficiency of institutional performance, and enhancing the quality of services provided.
