Dubai Police honour expat for returning Dh200,000 found in public parking area

ADubai expat was honoured for his honesty and integrity after returning a sum of money he found to Dubai Police, the police force announced on Tuesday, February 3.

The resident, Mohammad Suleiman Al Qaryouti, a Jordanian national, was at a public parking area within the station’s jurisdiction, when he found Dh200,000 in cash.

Upon receiving the honour, Al Qaryouti expressed gratitude for the recognition, saying that what he did stemmed from moral duty, not a desire for acknowledgment.

Brigadier Khalifa Khalid Al Awadhi, Director of the Bur Dubai Police Station praised Al Qaryouti’s honesty as an embodiment of the noble values cherished in our community.

Last month, an employee of Dubai Municipality was honoured by Hatta Police Station for his honesty after he found a tourist’s bag containing important documents and promptly handed it over to the police.

The bag was later returned to its owner, who expressed his appreciation for the swift recovery of his belongings, including his passport, and praised the high level of safety and security across the UAE.
