In 2023, the South Asian country nearly suffered a debt default, but has stabilised following the International Monetary Fund’s Stand-By Arrangement, which provided it with a $3 billion short term assistance, helping it recover its foreign exchange reserves.
“We've seen in the past that remittances have remained fairly stable. They're largely driven a lot by Pakistanis sending remittances back home, whether it is to their parents, to their families,” he said.
